Ancient Studies Minor
Program Requirements
- Total Units Required: 15
- Grade Requirement: Ancient Studies follows the Arts & Sciences minimum grade requirement of C- or better for courses that apply to the minor.
- Students may apply up to a maximum number of 6 credits to their minor earned through study abroad and/or transfer credits.
Courses
Courses that count toward the minor may include CLASSICS 1000-4999, GREEK 1000-4999, or LATIN 1000-2999, as well as approved interdisciplinary courses. See the Courses tab on the Classics page for a complete list.
Required Courses
Students select at least two courses from the following list:
- CLASSICS 3410 Ancient History: The Roman Republic
- CLASSICS 3420 Ancient History: The Roman Empire
- CLASSICS 3450 Greek History: The Dawn of Democracy
- CLASSICS 3460 Greek History: The Age of Alexander
Advanced Required Courses
Of the remaining 9 required units, students must complete at least 3 additional units at the 3000 level or above. Students must earn a grade of C- or better in all courses.
