MSW/Master of Divinity (MDiv)
The dual MSW/MDiv program prepares students with the skills and values needed for social work and congregational leadership and ministry. Students in this dual degree program will gain knowledge of professional and ethical practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities from the person-in-environment and faith-centered approach. This course plan prepares students for the leadership and development of religious-based or sponsored social services, faith-based therapeutic and counseling services, and practice and policy interventions for social justice at the local, state, and national levels.
Students will earn their Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School and a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary. The program requires 114 credit units taken over four years.
The Brown School also recognizes up to 9 credit units of courses from Eden Theological Seminary as electives toward an MSW degree (60 credit units).
